Baby Parrot Joins Human For Pool Time Fun

Quite possibly the most adorable thing gracing the internet, this precious little baby cockatoo truly makes you let out an uncontrollable “Awwwwwwww!!!!” This is a very young baby cockatoo. As far as we can tell, it seems to be a Corella Cockatoo. The little angel in this video is just so cute as it tries to get to its daddy, who is relaxing in their backyard pool. It paces the side of the pool, trying to figure out how to get to its owner, but cannot seem to quite figure it out. Daddy comes to the rescue quickly, lifting his arm up to the little doll to act as a type of a “bridge.”

The baby Cockatoo climbs onto his arm and makes its way to his shoulder. It does not stay very long, though. Maybe it reached dad’s shoulder and then looked around to realize it was completely surrounded by water and decided to go back. Dad, being a loving parent, gently glides it back over to the side of the pool. Even though the video stops there, if this little baby is anything like all other cockatoos, we can tell you what would have happened next:

It would have paced the side of that pool again, and wanted to climb back over there on dad’s shoulder again. Then it would have wanted to go back to the concrete, and what’s next? Lather, Rinse, Repeat! Cockatoos are known for repeating behaviors and not being able to make up their minds! They are hilarious little creatures, and they are so much fun to be around. Cockatoos and other large parrot species are extremely intelligent and intuitive. They become very attached to their primary handler, often times even mistaking the handler for their mate. Because of this, many people consider these creatures to be one person animals, and some recommend that they are the only pet in the household as well.

However, if they are trained from a young age to be used to being around other pets, they tend to do just fine. Even if you have 3 dogs and 4 cats living all together with a Cockatoo, believe it or not, they will all become close buddies! That means having a hilarious party at home. Cockatoos, and most other parrot species, tend to really like water. This is actually surprising to most people because they are birds, and most do not expect birds to enjoy water so much. They do, though!

The cutest part of this video to us, though, is the little “head twirl” that the little one shows us! Cockatoos are famous for these little twirls where they dip their head and spin around. There are not enough descriptive words in the English language to describe this adorable little spinning action!!! They also usually let out a little “whoop” sound effect mid-twirl, which just adds to the cuteness! Oh my, we are just overloading on warm and fuzzy feelings! There is just nothing cuter than a baby Cockatoo and its moves and sound effects!!!
