THE MAGIC SWORD (Serbian: Чудотворни мач, Čudotvorni mač) is a 1950 Yugoslav fantasy/adventure film directed by Vojislav Nanović which is based on Serbian folk tales, primarily "The Nine Peahens and the Golden Apples" but also including elements (such as the villain) from Baš Čelik.

PLOT:
THE MAGIC SWORD contains elements from Serbian fairytale "Bas Celik" (means "Head of steel") but has it's own plot that, although follows standard patterns of fairy tales, is original in it's presentation. The final battle can be seen as a fairytale version of the First Serbian Uprising, and Bas Celik as a metaphor for Ottoman empire.Evil Bas-Celik is terrorizing people, but only the magic sword can harm him. A young hero goes on the dangerous quest to find that sword.
