Personally, I hope what we are seeing from Vance is really President Trump's having learned a valuable lesson. His first term he learned how vile politics are, and thanks to Biden's insanity, he's been shown that he can't expect to fix everything within a single term, without it being destroyed immediately, as Biden did in 2020. I think he selected Pence to please the party, but largely because he could never upstage Trump, but this time, he's trying to build a legacy, in which Vance is elected in 2028 to continue Trump's agenda
