Pedestrian Struck by Car on 59, SEVEN OAKS, January 19, 2025 - At approximately 8:25 pm on January 19, 2025, a silver 2016 Toyota Camry, driven by John Hughes, 40, of Magnolia, was north-bound on US-59. Hughes told PolkCountyToday.com, that him and his girlfriend, passenger, Kimberly Lynn Landeche, 41, also of Magnolia, got into an argument. Landeche asked Hughes to pull to the shoulder, when he did, Hughes stated that Landeche jumped out of the car in anger. Ran across 59, and then came back and was struck by a north-bound gray 2016 Kia Sportage. The female driver of the Kia (we don't yet have her name), pulled to the right shoulder about 250 yards further. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, Officers from Livingston Police Department, and Troopers Sean Barnes and Terrence Dickens with The Texas Highway Patrol. Kimberly Landeche had serious injuries and was flown from the scene. All traffic on the north-bound side of 59 was blocked during investigation, cleanup, and flight operations. The Kia was towed, while the Toyota Camry was driven from the scene. This accident remains under investigation by The Texas Highway Patrol.
