The U.S. House of representatives passed a bill to deport migrants convicted of domestic violence and sex-related offenses including sex crimes against children – however- the majority of democrats voted against the bill including Veronica Escobar – who represents the border city of El Paso, Texas.
The bill would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act making sure that migrants - who have committed crimes like sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, neglect & abandonment, threats of violence among other offenses - are not allowed into the country, and if they’re already here, must be deported
158 House Dems didn’t think that was a good idea – so they voted against it – on that list
29 representatives from California including Nancy Pelosi, 5 from Michigan including Rashida Tlaib, a trio out of Minnesota including Ilhan Omar, 13 out of New York Including Hakeem Jefferies, Shantel Brown out of Ohio, and of course Veronica Escobar out of El Paso joined 8 other representatives from Texas in voting against deporting illegal migrant sex offenders.
