In December of 1864, the fate of State of Tennessee hung in the balance on hilltops south of Nashville. General John Bell Hood, unwilling to accept the reality of his losses already suffered on this march, prays an error will develop in union attacks against his trenches that he may exploit and keep the confederacy alive. In truth, this would be the inevitable destruction of the confederate Army of Tennessee.
