Breakfast At Tiffany's (Deep Blue Something, 1995). Live cover performance by Bill Sharkey, Home Studio, Hawaii Kai, HI. 2024-12-17. "Keeping the Oldies & Classics Alive"

"Breakfast At Tiffany's," written by bassist/vocalist Todd Pipes, was Deep Blue Something's only entry onto the Billboard Hot 100 (one hit wonder). Their recording rose to the no. 5 position on the chart and remained on the chart for 36 weeks (Whitburn, 2013), while in the UK, the song hit the top no. 1 spot (Kutner & Leigh, 2005). "Pipes was inspired to write this song after seeing Audrey Hepburn in the film 'Roman Holiday,' but he thought 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' would be a better title" (songfacts, 2024).

Lyrics:

You'll say, we've got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we're falling apart
You'll say, the world has come between us
Our lives have come between us
Still I know you just don't care

And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said I think I remember the film
And as I recall I think, we both kind of liked it
And I said well that's, the one thing we've got

I see you, the only one who knew me
And now your eyes see through me
I guess I was wrong
So what now?
It's plain to see we're over
And I hate when things are over
When so much is left undone

And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said I think I remember the film
And as I recall I think, we both kind of liked it
And I said well that's, the one thing we've got

You'll say, that we've got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we're falling apart
You'll say the world has come between us
Our lives have come between us
Still I know you just don't care

And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said I think I remember the film
And as I recall I think, we both kind of liked it
And I said well that's, the one thing we've got

And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said I think I remember the film
And as I recall I think, we both kind of liked it
And I said well that's, the one thing we've got
And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany's?
She said I think I remember the film
And as I recall I think, we both kind of liked it
And I said well that's, the one thing we've got
