Plastic-eating insect discovered

Scientists in Kenya have discovered a type of insect that can eat plastic, thanks to its gut bacteria. The team observed the lesser mealworm munching on polystyrene, and are now hoping to extract the stomach enzyme responsible for this, to be used on a larger scale.
