I do not believe that the pardon is effective to the extent of making Hunter "above the law." The pardon authority was to address crimes, and they would have to be at least identified before they could be pardoned. Probably there is a lack of authority to pardon someone for unknown crimes.

This could be beauty. Now that Hunter has been pardoned, the 5th amendment doesn't apply, he can be compelled to testify. If he refuses to testify he can be held in contempt, if he testifies falsely he can be charged with perjury. Kash Patel.
