Nidec/Global Elevators Caribbean Traction Elevators - Casa Del Mar Beach Resort (Oranjestad, Aruba)

Yep, the thumbnail ain't lying. These modded European Otis Gen2's... FROM 2004! I don't know why these were modded at all, but they were down in 2022. These may be full replacements believe it or not, considering the company that modded this (Nidec I'm referring to) does do MRL Traction Installs.

These were replaced by Global Elevators Caribbean, who replaced these Gen2's with Nidec elevators. This is the first time I have ever seen this company down here in Aruba, and in general. This is a very unique overhaul, with neat chimes and even talks! The elevators run well, too. I will never understand why the Gen2's were pointlessly replaced, but in all honesty, the uniqueness of these Nidecs makes me like it more than the previous Gen2's that were here. At the end of the day though, I can always find another EU Otis Gen2 anywhere down here, so not much is loss. Very unique mod/replacement!
