BEN BIKMAN | PROCESSED FOODS… double problem: cause inflammation & IR
http://www.DoctorsToTrust.com
presents episode 2275 | DR BEN BIKMAN

If a fat cell becomes IR, it rejects insulin, therefore, does not
continue storing fat and limits its own growth...
-seed oils are indeed pathogenic
Dr Cate Shanahan, well-respected, says seed oils cause IR
-others in seed oil camp say: they are fattening because
they do not cause IR

Study, 2006, rodents, infused PUFAs
caused least IR
-infused sat fat causes IR
[Not Same as Eating Sat Fats--which is
very healthy and does Not increase sat fat in blood
"Eating PUFAs causing IR, is not true"
-can do a lot other things

There are studies that show that eating high carbs spikes
insulin the most by raising hyperinsulinemia...
-the key is: what are carbs doing to insulin
-if carbs are low, not a problem
Healthy individuals, eat high carbs for 1 week:
insulin goes up 2.5X, even in fasted state

Inflammation is a primary cause of IR, but still in studies,
IR does not come directly from eating high linoleic acid...
If avoiding refined starches and sugars is great since that
is where the seed oils are, overwhelmingly
Restricting carbs from processed foods will also restrict
seed oils
Example: decline french fries?
avoid starches in potatoes &
avoid seed oils they are fried in
-same with chips & crisps
