This Clever Dog Loves Solving Puzzles For Treats

What dog doesn’t like treats? There are only so many things a dog really really loves - their toys, the food bowl, the kibble that fills it twice a day, their owners and the games they play and, of course, the treats. Then, there are some dogs that love treats so much, they are willing to solve sometimes incredibly complex puzzles, if that means that at the end of it all there is a yummy little morsel waiting for them. Solving puzzles is good for everyone and especially for dogs, since it keeps them occupied and wears them down just enough to keep them calm for a while.

This dog knows that all too well and the puzzle his owner prepared for him is nothing special. Just a muffin tin with a few bits of kibble here and there and covered with another thing dogs really love - tennis balls!

“Reuben, my German Shorthaired Pointer loves thinking games. He has to figure out how to move the balls in order to retrieve the treats. You should try with your dog. It's great for making your dog smarter and for making them TIRED! It takes Reuben about a minute and a half to get all twelve. Then I finish the game by having him bring me all twelve balls,” says proud Andrew of his clever pooch.

We see clever Reuben sitting opposite his puzzle and waits for Andrew’s cue. He then proceeds to sniff out every single one of those balls, in pursuit for what he is really there for - treats! He is so clever, it blew us away!

Dogs don’t really need much in terms of mental stimuli in order to keep them occupied. Just hang three bottled on a rod, fill them with treats and let the dog whack at the bottles in order to get to the sweet part. This one clever dog figured out the bottle puzzle pretty well!
