The video shows a foot chase, a struggle for an officer's service weapon, and multiple shots fired into the man before he went limp. Houston police said officers responded to a call of someone slashing tires and breaking car windows with a sharp object on Caddo Road just before 8 a.m. A woman who lived nearby told KHOU 11 she witnessed the man vandalizing a car by breaking the glass on two different windows. She said the suspect then tried to go inside her neighbor's house before walking away. When police arrived at the scene, they spotted a man who matched the description of the suspect, HPD said. Officers tried to arrest him, but he took off running toward Homestead Road. After they caught up with him, HPD says he resisted arrest and struggled with the officers. The video shows an officer identified as Officer Zhu tackling the suspect, but then he flips over on top of Zhu. One of the officers is heard shouting, "He's got my gun!" while other officers are struggling with the man. Police say the suspect fired the gun while trying to remove it from the officer's holster. An officer, identified in the video as Officer Avila, stepped back and fired at least two shots at the suspect. The man goes limp after the second shot, still on top of Officer Zhu. They carefully move the suspect because they said his finger was still on the trigger of the officer's gun. No officers were injured in the incident, HPD said. The man's identity hasn't been released.

That woman told police she thought the man was going to kill her. The shooting happened just after 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 in the 700 block of 6th Street in Boulder City, LVMPD Capt. Kurt McKenzie said last week. The department identified the officer involved as Cesar Ibarra, 48. Officer Ibarra has been employed with LVMPD since 2005 and is currently on paid administrative leave. During the shooting, Ibarra fired two rounds. Police did not say how many rounds his wife fired. Boulder City police recieved a call from an open line in the 800 block of 6th Street. Dispatchers could hear what appeared to be fighting in the background, Assistant Sheriff Jamie Prosser said on Tuesday. A woman said her husband was in the front of their home with a gun. Shortly after she said that, shots were fired. BCP officers arrived and rendered aid to a man identified as Jeremiah Boshard, 45. Medical personnel later pronounced him dead at the scene. Officer Ibarra told BCP officers he heard a “commotion” in the backyard of a neighbor’s house. Ibarra said he saw Boshard “trying to pull [a clothesline] out of the ground” before he saw Boshard “bodyslam” a woman onto the ground, get on top of her, and hit her in the face, Prosser said. The victim suffered multiple lacerations to her head, swelling to her face, cut and bruised lips, and strangulation marks on her neck. Ibarra then told his wife to call police while he went into the backyard to separate Boshard and the victim. Ibarra was able to get the victim to a chair in front of his house, but Boshard followed Ibarra and the two began fighting, Prosser said. Boshard “slammed” Ibarra’s head into a vehicle in the driveway, Prosser said. Boshard was also able to “incircle his arm around [Ibarra’s] neck” and Ibarra’s wife grabbed a gun. Ibarra was able to get free from Boshard and drew his gun, identifying himself as a police officer, and gave “several” commands for Boshard to get on the ground and back away. Despite commands, Boshard moved toward the victim, causing both Ibarra and his wife to fire at him. Boshard would have faced the following charges if he had survived: * One count of attempted murder * One count of battery on a protected person The victim told police that she believed Boshard was going to kill her if someone did not intervene. Ibarra was off-duty at the time of the shooting, but because he identified himself as a police officer and took action as a police officer, the LVMPD is considering the incident an officer-involved shooting.

The officers responded to the 3700 block of Wheeler Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night to search for 33-year-old Austin Schepers. Schepers was accused of shooting Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Zac Andry four times when Andry stopped to check on a car he thought was abandoned on Highway 150 and State Road 56 near West Baden. That shooting happened Saturday morning. A manhunt ensued, with police being led to New Albany on tips that Schepers might be there, and eventually to Louisville. LMPD found Schepers in the backyard of a home on Wheeler Avenue. They said he fired shots at the officers first, so they returned fire, hitting him several times. Schepers was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect was brought to a hospital in critical condition, an LAPD spokesperson said. An innocent woman who was in the area was also struck by gunfire on the arm and was brought to a local hospital. She is expected to survive. The violent series of events unfolded around 12:17 p.m. when police were called about a domestic violence suspect in a white Maserati who was apparently following an alleged victim riding on a city DASH bus in the San Pedro area. Officers found the Maserati on the northbound 110 Freeway and attempted to pull the suspect over. He briefly pulled to the side of the road, but then took off as officers approached. They chased him along the freeway and into the West Adams area, and eventually into a residential neighborhood near West and Jefferson boulevards. The suspect pulled into a driveway, parked behind an apartment building and walked toward the street, where police were approaching. "The suspect in the driveway pulled out two guns - one in each hand - and opened fire on the officers," McDonnell said. "Officers returned fire, striking the suspect." "The suspect was on the ground, the officers went to his location, secured the firearms, administered aid to him, requested a paramedic ambulance who responded and transported the suspect to a local hospital." McDonnell says from shell casings on the ground near the suspect, it appears he fired his weapons multiple times. Officers also fired multiple rounds.

Henderson's family said he was completing a DoorDash order when the shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Aprll 26 in the 1100 block of Metropolitan Avenue in KCK. Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree said Henderson's family has seen the body camera footage of the shooting. Dupree said that during a traffic stop, Henderson began driving away at a high rate of speed. The officer who discharged his weapon was stuck between the door and the driver's compartment. Dupree said despite multiple commands from the officer to stop, Henderson continued driving at a high rate of speed. The officer then opened fire, striking and killing Henderson. "Under Kansas law, an officer may use deadly force if he or she is in immediate danger of serious bodily harm or death," Dupree said in a news release.

The grandmother reported to dispatch that Kopp had "broken into her home, was ransacking her home, and was threatening to kill [his grandmother], her daughter and himself," according to the Guilford County District Attorney's office. In the bodycam footage, a responding officer finds the grandmother sitting on the curb outside her residence in a state of panic. She explains the situation to the officer, and they start moving up the driveway toward the home. As the officer is moving up the driveway, Kopp appears from the front entrance of the home holding a knife. Kopp then states, "I have no intention of living," before starting down the front steps toward the officer. As Kopp moves toward him, the officer yells, "Put down the knife," before firing his gun twice and hitting Kopp. The officer then goes to Kopp's side to render aid. Kopp was transported to a local hospital but died of his injuries. A silver kitchen knife was found in the driveway after the incident. The officer's use of force was justified.

The incident unfolded the evening of Oct. 5 when, according to police, Deyaa Abdelhadi Halaibeh, 28, first assaulted an employee at the Target store on 420 Broadway and ran away with a knife set. Halaibeh then walked a short distance to the police station on Olympic Drive, where he rang the call button to speak to an officer, security video shows. An officer opened the door to the courtyard and immediately encountered Halaibeh, with his right hand tucked inside his jacket, standing near two other people who were also waiting to speak to police. “What’s in your jacket? I’m kind of nervous with your hand in your jacket like that,” the officer asked. Halaibeh, who appeared agitated, responded by asking, “You’re nervous?” and immediately pulled out a knife and slashed at the officer. Body camera and surveillance footage show the officer running around a corner in an attempt to get away, but Halaibeh caught up with him, and they both fell to the ground. The officer fired several shots as he got to his feet and backed away with his service weapon pointed at his attacker. “Get on the ground!” the officer yelled. Instead, Halaibeh stood up and walked toward the officer while still holding the knife, later determined to be a purple 8-inch Cuisinart blade he had stolen from Target, according to police. The officer opened fire, striking Halaibeh with several rounds that proved to be fatal. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer sustained “multiple, severe” stab wounds to his neck and shoulder area, police said. Investigators determined that Halaibeh, originally from New York State, had been in the Santa Monica area for around a week. The motive for the attack remains unknown.

According to Assistant Chief Yasar Bashir, two HPD officers were responding to an unrelated call around 2:30 a.m. when they heard gunshots nearby. After clearing the call, Bashir said they made their way to Corksie near Dulcimer to ensure it was safe. When they arrived, the officers reported seeing a car with a broken window and a man nearby. Investigators said one of the officers asked the man if he heard any gunshots or saw anything unusual. That's when the man allegedly began shooting at officers. According to HPD, both officers fired back and hit the man. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Bashir said the two officers were not hurt in the shooting. The officers were said to both have been with the department for four years. As the investigation continues, the officers will be placed on administrative leave, which is standard policy for the agency, officials said. Houston police found a second man who was shot about three to four houses away from where the officer-involved shooting occurred. He was also pronounced dead at the scene. A semi-automatic weapon was later recovered.

At 6:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, Kendall County Sheriff's deputies were called to assist Plano police officers after a report of a home invasion in the 3800 block of Pratt Court in Plano. Upon arriving, Plano officers saw a green Ford Bronco Sport pulling out of the garage at the house where the home invasion had been reported. The officer, with his gun drawn, is heard in the body cam video ordering the driver to stop. But the driver does not stop, instead running haphazardly over lawns as he hits the road. The next video clip shows a pursuit along U.S. Route 34, or Ogden Avenue, through Yorkville and Oswego and finally into Aurora. Meanwhile, police learned a man identified as Russell Novak, 70, was found back in the house in Plano with multiple gunshot wounds—and died as a result of his injuries. Police determined the suspect they were pursuing may be armed and dangerous. Upon reaching Eola Road in Aurora, the Ford Bronco turned to head south—and then made a U-turn at Keating Drive to head back toward Route 34. At that point, the Bronco entered the left turn lane, police said. In the left turn lane, the driver is seen on dashcam video getting out of the car with a long gun raised. The driver fires at officers, and the officers fire back as the driver falls to the ground. Police said a Plano officer and a Kendall County Sheriff's deputy fired at the driver and struck him. Officers rendered aid to the driver shortly afterward.

According to police, officers received reports of a male and female refusing to leave a business and making threats to employees. Two officers arrived at the scene and came across the duo in the parking lot of the business when the man, identified as37-year-old Percy Hawkins, appeared to be agitated. As one of the officers attempted to open his patrol car door, Hawkinscharged toward him while the other officer ordered him to put the knife down. Hawkins did not comply, causing one of the officers to discharge his duty weapon as Hawkins ran up to his door. He then charged at the other officer while still armed with the knife, causing that officer to alsodischarge his duty weapon. Hawkins continued to chase the officer until he collapsed on the ground, where he was taken into custody. Medical personnel responded and transported him to UMC, where he was later pronounced dead. During Tuesday's press conference, authorities released body camera and surveillance footage of the events that led up to the shooting. On Monday, authorities identified the officers as 26-year-oldAnthony Salinas and 27-year-oldTrenzel Allen.

The shooting happened near Gale Boulevard and West Thornton Parkway — between Pecos and Huron streets — around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, the police department said in a news release. When officers approached a man suspected to be involved in an assault that happened at a nearby gas station, a fight broke out, police said in the release. The suspect grabbed a gun in one of the Thornton officers’ holsters and the two struggled over the weapon, police said. The officer was shot during the struggle, and another Thornton officer shot the suspect. Police said the assault suspect died at the scene, and paramedics transported the officer to a hospital with “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.” The Adams County Coroner on July 26 identified the man killed as Gilberto Velazquez Carnero, 27.
