Some clips feature users adding liquid to drinks while captions like “your body, my choice” appear, often set to Eminem’s song “Venom.” Others share seemingly subtle advice, such as recommending the planting of poisonous flowers like foxglove, with hashtags such as #feminism and #womensrights. One post even jokingly encourages women to research plants carefully while presenting this as "educated gardening." Search trends for “aqua tofana” spiked in the U.S. following the election results, alongside related phrases like “aqua tofana recipe” and “how to make aqua tofana.” Unsurprisingly, these videos have sparked widespread outrage. Many people are shocked that some women view this behavior, even as a supposed joke, as remotely acceptable. Critics highlight the disturbing implications, especially if such sentiments were acted upon in everyday settings like restaurants.
