Post-Conditioning Pressing & Accessories

I began pressing with 5 sets of practice triples of my new working weight. This is around 2-3 RIR but the restraint is to allow for my connective tissues to accommodate to the newly acquired loading. The last progression I worked because I let it slowly “bake-in” over several months. No need to, literally, “rush to failure” 🤷🏾♂️

Following the pressing, for side delts I hit lateral raises on the Lifefitness machine. I load these in the 10-15 rep range and maintain constant tension in the muscle the entire set by stopping just shy of allowing the plates to rest on the stack between each rep

Third I did “Louie’s” or, barbell pushups to hit all the pressing muscles globally with some calisthenics volume. I often do these towards the end of the session so that fatigue makes them more difficult and laterally, more stimulative without having to do sets of like, 50 or more

Last, for direct tricep work, I did close-grip cable pushdowns with the Ez-Curl Attachment
