We also turned all the steam power plants on getting ready for the eventual growth. Spent some time to the West of the power plant filling in the water with landfill. We were able to run power poles along the railroad track lines to distribute power where needed. Finally, we built a train stop at the new coal patch for distribution along the rail line. In addition, we built a coal drop off station at the power plant to provide a continual supply of coal to the power plant. While doing all of this, the pollution cloud grew and caused a biter attack on the new coal patch. We moved into the are and took out a few biter nests and set up gun turrets to protect the coal site. This video covers hours 18-20 of this game series. In this video we study the map and figure out a tentative route for the rail network prior to the cliff explosives. The areas we need to expand have biters occupying the territory, so we need to eliminate the nests. It was time to start making the rail network blueprints, so we completed that project. A ghost track was laid across the map to denote the location and route of the rail network. In between, more brick foundation was added to the oil processing site. We also ran a rail along the inside of the oil processing location. A new coal site was set up with rail and miners. Also built an additional steam plant and used it to burn up an excess of logs from tree clearing. This is my first tutorial type video for the game Factorio. This video series was started in July 2024 prior to the Factorio 2.0 and DLC release. I wanted to make a slowed down version of how to play the game. I noticed many new players out there become overwhelmed with the game and some reach levels of anxiety while dealing with the divided attention that this game requires. Although I do not possess strong skills in mathematics and do not work in the IT field or game development, I wanted to show you that this can be done by investing time in the game with a certain amount of slow strategy. This video series will be a little longer than most videos out there. The biters have been limited in the game and are not allowed to evolve. I did this to focus more on the mechanics of the game and still be able to use military applications when it is available. My hope is that this video series can help new players to the game get started.
