Jesus is the English name for Ιησους which comes from the Hebrew word Yeshua (ישׁוּעה) which means "salvation" and "YHWH (Jehovah) saves". There are some people in the OT called "Yeshua", but the word is usually translated "salvation". We're going to do a study of those instances.

One of the books of the New Testament (in the Bible) is Paul the apostle's Epistle (Letter) to the Galatians (the people of the region of Galatia which is now in Turkey). It's not common to think of the book of Galatians in relation to Christmas but there's a very important verse in this book that very clearly links the book to Christmas. We'll do a quick summary of the first two chapters and then go a bit slower for the final 4 chapters when the topic of Christmas and why Jesus was born really come to life.

We continue examining the PROVIDE acronym of Provisionism by looking at the "E" which stands for "Eternal security of believers". If you have trusted Jesus Christ for your salvation, He will keep you forever. In Provisionism, the P.R.O.V.I.D.E stands for P = People sin: Which separated all from fellowship with God. Kevin and I will be examining the 7 points of Provisionism developed by Leighton Flowers as an official explanation of the "Traditional" Baptist soteriology that has always been held by the biblical church. It is a response to Calvinism and Arminianism and other heretical soteriologies. But it is not a new set of ideas, just a new package and name. Provisionism is a term devised by Leighton Flowers to describe the traditional theology on soteriology held by most Christians for most of the history of the church, in opposition to Calvinism and Arminianism. In this episode, we are looking at the "Open Door" point which states that God is offering salvation to all and issues and invitation to all.
