if we ignore the whisper, we can't shame the shout.

forget resolution for a moment, a large percentage of our disturbance is simply not allowing it to surface in the first place.

the nervous system takes that refusal as ignorance and allocates more energy to it.

by raising a concern especially socially, we receive confirmation that we are not alone in dealing with this, and whatever THIS is will not rupture my connection.

That denial of handling the burden alone allows us to take a huge deep breath in and often utter the words after hearing “how do you feel now?”… “I feel lighter”

i.e. by airing the dirty laundry, it can go a long way to cleaning it.

instead of “don’t worry” “try to relax” “do this” … “that’s understandable” can be the two word hug our ears and heart needed.
