Maya The Bee Returns!

Waldemar Bonsels wanted to teach children to: respect all living beings; be courageous; be adventurous; be open-minded; acknowledge life and death and think positively. As the author of "The Adventures of Maya The Bee", he managed to convey these teachings through the journey of the little bee, Maya. For someone who, paradoxically, got swept up in the antisemitic fervour of Nazi Germany, Waldemar Bonsells was a "Neo-Romantic Natural Mystic" who did a pretty good job of creating the greatest children's fairy tale of the 19th century.
