It’s been 17 years since the federal minimum wage has been raised, the longest span since the law was enacted in 1938.

Also, when it comes to tipped wage, it’s as clear as a summer’s day that the responsibility for paying an employee a decent wage falls indisputably onto the employer, not the customer. Currently, there is a popular presidential campaign slogan stating “No tax on tips.” I’ve got a better one: No tips on bills. It’s high time the custom came to an end and frankly, the server profession with it.
