John Rich Tucker Carlson Interview in which they discuss the Scofield Bible, John Darby and Pre Tribulation Rapture. John Rich goes back into church history to discuss how our view on the end times was shaped by bad theology. In 1980 a preacher names John Darby started teaching a pre tribulation rapture. Then he influenced the man who wrote the Scofield Bible which was widely distributed throughout the world. They pushed the idea of the pre tribulation rapture and that the church would be removed before the great tribulation. Its such a wonderful idea that this caught on very quickly and became very popular. Its what everyone wants to hear in that we will not have to face tough times. The problem with this theology is that the bible teaches a lot about the times heading up to the second coming of Jesus Christ. But no one wants to preach on this because its not a popular message. I personally do not believe that the church will be raptured before the tribulation. We will face the the Anti Christ, the great tribulation and possibly loose our lives.
