Genesis 27:1-40: Jacob, at his mother Rebekah's urging, deceives his father Isaac to receive his blessing intended for Esau, his older brother. Jacob disguises himself as Esau and brings Isaac a meal. Despite initial suspicion, Isaac blesses Jacob, believing him to be Esau.

Psalm 38:15-22: The psalmist acknowledges their desperate need for God's help and deliverance from their enemies. They confess their sins and express their trust in God's mercy and salvation. Luke 10:38-11:13: Jesus visits the home of Martha and Mary. Martha is busy with preparations while Mary sits at Jesus' feet, listening to His teachings. Jesus commends Mary's choice of prioritizing spiritual nourishment. He teaches His disciples the Lord's Prayer and emphasizes the importance of persistence in prayer, illustrating with a parable about a persistent friend.
