Elaborate. Meticulous. Vivacious. Extravagant. All words to describe the wonderful era of Baroque music. Not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea, there is still something in there for everyone. Spanning from roughly 1600s to 1750s, this music really defined all other genres to follow.
Although some still enjoy Renaissance compositions, it is the Baroque composers that… well, rocked the music world. Before this, the church’s influence dominated the music scene, and although there are many religious compositions by Baroque composers, they are not solely defined by religion.
Let’s take a look at the pieces that changed the music world forever!
