Alan Masters is returning to host today's Perilous World Radio show. He opens the book of his father's aphorisms and invites the audience to choose a topic as he lists the various subjects available. Alan opts for the topic of lying, as he has observed an overwhelming amount of falsehoods recently. "Why isn't the truth good enough?" he questions. "If the truth will set you free, then wouldn’t a lie enslave you?" When the energy shifts and you sense a lie, you instinctively yearn for the genuine truth. It made him reflect on why people choose to lie and why he has made excuses in the past. Making excuses is akin to lying, as legitimate reasons can sometimes blur the line. Ultimately, the fundamental question is simple – did you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Many of us struggle to do so unconsciously, as our unconscious self wants to tell its version, not necessarily the unembellished truth. It's challenging to resist the temptation to embellish, animate, and amplify things beyond what is necessary. The truth is simple, but we often tend to complicate it. We often find ourselves caught in the tangled mess of life, and it can be challenging to break free from it. Sometimes, we become so entrenched in our struggles that we convince ourselves there's no way out. However, it's important to remember the wise words, "All men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course is wrong and he repairs the evil. The only crime is pride." – Sophocles
