OMG! Will the EPA be abolished? Chevron Doctrine OVERRULED by SCOTUS

SCOTUS Overturns the long held Chevron Doctrine and it sends ripples through every federal agency! We’re going to focus on the EPA and NHTSA, and how CAFE standards may change drastically in the future.

What is the Chevron Doctrine and why is this the most important court ruling to effect cars since 1975? I will go over the four major points of the Energy Policy Conservation Act (1975) which has been used against car makers, dictating CAFE standards ever since.

Why is this important? One example I want to mention is the IIHS and NHTSA pushing their interpretation of safety with the very debatable and questionable crash testing of a 2007 Chevy Malibu, and a 1957 Chevrolet Malibu. Let me know if you want me to do an in-depth video on that crash test.

One thing is certain. Car manufacturers will be tasking their legal teams to look into ways to challenge the EPA, NHTSA when it comes to legislation, opening the door even for Congress to have to review bills that may be out of date. I go over the four main points of this bill, CAFE, and how it could bring a new era of more affordable cars, more performance, and overall cars that would stimulate the US economy as well as the car buyer.

People right now are struggling, and the EPA has historic low approval ratings. Federal agencies are also at historic lows, and this overturning has the potential to change things at fundamental levels in the US. And most of us, are excited for this type of change, only making us more ready for the Challenger Challenge this November.
