Trying Kamikazevondoom's "VECTOR IS KING" Tank Bld /70 Min Playtest of Civic Center Sweep #Division2

Is it hype or does it live up to the sales pitch? The YouTube algorithm sent me to Kamikazevondoom's video titled "Vector is King", so I thought, "Hmm, let's try someone else's build for a change!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojMYNRdbS_w

1) First, is it good or bad? Answer: it does the job, but it's damage is a bit weak (see video). On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 7. Unfortunately, my habits are wired to my own builds. So, I'm not playing this build to its potential.

2) It's not enough with this build to know the enemy spawns. You also need to know HOW YOUR BUILD PLAYS THROUGH those spawns. If you get flanked using this build, you're toast! But the only way to avoid that is to know the spawns beforehand so that your character can kill enemies as they appear. So, this is a build for experienced Players.

I don't have much experience with Hunter's Fury, so I had to play with caution. As such, my video does NOT reflect how a real Hunter's Fury player would play.

3) This is not a true Tank build. Tank builds are SAFE builds. This build requires you to take risks. This build needs you to be aggressive and agile. This build is loaded with clutch skills (Jammer Pulse, etc), and using those is how you survive... not by Tanking damage.

Please note, a single enemy is capable of gunning down this build even with the Defender Drone up. If you rush a cluster of enemies, you need to activate Jammer Pulse or kill one of them QUICKLY to activate Hunter's Fury disorient. Failing those, the Defender Drone will allow you to survive long enough to get to cover.

4) I don't like the Hunter's Fury set for one reason... past 15 meters, your set becomes useless for doing damage. Most fights, especially outdoor fights, happen at much longer ranges.

30% amplified damage through Spotter/Flatline is not great, but it does make solo Heroic playable. But this build will struggle in co-op play when enemies have their health/armor multiplied and other Players are using 200 stack Striker builds for 200% amplified damage.

5) Also note, when you fight within 15 meters of enemies their weapons become MORE EFFECTIVE. They'll inflict maybe double or triple damage because they shoot more accurately. You'll be within the optimal ranges of their SMGs and shotguns, both weapon classes do HUGE damage at short range.

None of this means the build is bad. It DOES mean this build requires you to react VERY QUICKLY to situations.

6) The biggest strength of the build is its power to quickly overpower small groups of enemies without stacking. If you know the spawns and play with confidence, then this build dominates. If you don't know the spawns, then enemies will quickly spread out and make the battle much harder.

7) The biggest weakness of the build is simply lack of damage. It has a hard time coping with chungas from NY. You can see in the video, my character takes a very long time to kill WONY chungas with shields... and one eventually kills her. When you need damage, this build won't deliver it. And this also helps prove Point #3, this is a not Tank build. If I felt my character could Tank the WONY chungas and do enough damage, I would''ve had her stand her ground. If she had a shield, she would've lived.

8) The second biggest weakness of the build is its inability to handle targets at longe range. As seen in the video, this build can't target Theo Parnell in the Tomb. I had to switch to St. Elmo's to target him. In MOST OTHER cases, a Hunter's Fury build should be able to close the distance... but not this time!

Here's what I would change:

- Switch Ninjabike Messenger Backpack with Memento or Sokolov with Unstoppable Force or a Lengmo with Perfect Unstoppable Force. This build NEEDS more damage.

- Switch Brazos de Arcabuz chest armor for Closer (Uzina Getica) with Perfect Spotter or Sokolov with Spotter (if backpack is also Sokolov).

- Switch Kingbreaker for an L86 or RPK 74 LMG. They are both more stable, have longer range, can use a Laser Pointer, have DTOOC as 2nd attribute (and therefore can have more Crit Chance), and generally inflict MUCH more damage with Flatline than Kingbreaker does with Perfect Flatline.

- Switch Jammer Pulse for a shield. Shield's absorb 4.5 million damage at level 6.

- Switch Picaro's Holster for a Hunter's Fury since we're losing Ninjabike backpack.

- Switch Backup Boomstick for an exotic pistol.

- Keep the Drone. Both the Shield and Drone benefit from Memento.
