Moment pilot’s canopy comes off mid-flight

The pilot of a small aircraft had a miraculous escape when the canopy of her plane burst open mid-flight. Narine Melkumjan can be seen reacting with shock when exposed to the air now battering her face, but somehow manages to land her Extra 330LX safely.

‘The canopy locking pin had never gone into the locked position and I failed to notice it during my checks,’ Melkumjan admitted when sharing the footage on social media. We suspect that’s a mistake she will not be making again.
