General Motors has named Marc Whitten its new CEO

He will start July 16 and will succeed Kyle Vogt, who resigned in November after a pedestrian was dragged by a Cruise self-driving taxi. Whitten is a "founding engineer at Xbox and Xbox Live" and is also a former Amazon executive.
