One of the biggest problems I had when I was suffering from depression was a feeling of overwhelm. I always felt like I was a hair's breadth away from complete overwhelm, even by the smallest and tiniest of things. 💙

So having done therapy, one of the ways I found to cope with this sense of overwhelm is something that I call slow down and simplify. And it can apply to your thoughts, your feelings and to your environment.💙

So for your thoughts, the easiest way to slow down is to get a pad of paper and a pencil and just write down your thoughts. It forces you to slow down and then you can go through and prioritize which thoughts are most important and what to do about them. 💙

With your feelings, it's important to take a breath to slow down and then go inside and work through which feelings are coming up and what they mean to you and what to do about them, if anything. And then with your environment, if you could slow down by taking a pause and then go through and get rid of the clutter, I've always found that that helps me to clear space in my head. 💙
