ASL - Honest mistake or deliberate, divisive political message?

Singer Man-E performed the National Anthem at a Pittsburg Pirates baseball game. Did he make an honest mistake when he was supposed to sing, "and the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air," or was he sending a divisive political message when he sang the color that represents the Democrat Party, rather than the original lyrics?
