The UN's health agency says a significant proportionof Gaza's population is facing catastrophic hunger andfamine-like conditions - after eight months of war -thousands of children have been diagnosed with acute malnutrition.
More than 37,000 people have been killed, and manyhundreds of thousands more injured or displaced inIsrael's offensive against Hamas in Gaza, according tothe Hamas-run health ministry.
The war began after Hamas attacked Israel on 7October, killing about 1,200 people and taking 251others back to Gaza as hostages.
