I am going to just stick to the facts that have been made known publicly. But bottom line Tony Evans steps down as pastor at the over 11,000-member Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas. Tony Evans is a speaker, author, and widely syndicated radio and television broadcaster in the United States. His broadcasts airing on over 1,400 radio outlets and in over 130 countries, reaching millions each week. Evans holds the honor of writing and publishing the first full-Bible commentary and study Bible by an African American. We are going to discuss the Tony Evans Scandal today. Tony Evans Sermon at the church gave this statement: “When we fall short of that standard due to sin, we are required to repent and restore our relationship with God. A number of years ago, I fell short of that standard. I am, therefore, required to apply the same biblical standard of repentance and restoration to myself that I have applied to others.” Tony Evans and the church were very vague about any details which is problematic. But Tony Evans also states: “While I have committed no crime, I did not use righteous judgment in my actions,” he said. “In light of this, I am stepping away from my pastoral duties and am submitting to a healing and restoration process established by the elders.”. So Tony Evans stepping down from ministry starting immediately. They did not give a time frame for his return. Only stating that Tony Evans stepping down. Evans said during his "season" of "spiritual recovery and healing," he will become a worshiper like the members of his flock. This is not good Tony Evans news.
