Now in the depths of the planet, we chase down Genesis to uncover what he's up to, finding he's got a big girl Behemoth trapped behind some bars. We get a key, but still can't open it, which just leads us to running around aimlessly until I get bored and decide to hunt for the Dragon Balls. After calling Shenron, and not getting my wish granted for reasons unknown, we take on a Gundam, because no one said "fantasy" was supposed to make sense. With having survived another of Hojo's experiments, we take Clog Strips out of the mansion, only to get ambushed by wannabe security members. They're obviously no match for the ultimate weapon; The Buster Sword, and we escape with little effort. Strangely, that only leads us to changing the game's genre from JRPG to FPS, having the worst ADS mechanics in the history of Visual Horror Novels. Inching closer to the problems that will plague a certain blond dude, we continue to play "Find the Wonders" with a kid, telling him he's stupid and lazy for not doing the hunt himself. We've reached the point of no return, so of course--in pro gamer fashion--we keep a backup save to return to in case things start to get... fiery. After disciplining a winged canine, we are told to head back to headquarters, only for Silver the Hedgehog to tell us we need to wait around for him. As such, we ignore his orders and go to help Aerith with making a wagon out of fake car parts, which just makes me feel like I wasted time knowing I could have use ACTUAL car parts. Having finally obtained the best weapon in existence, we are tasked with tracking down Hollander yet again, because Shinra can't be bothered. The Turkletins aren't much help either, getting Clod Stripe sick when flying him in. Silver tells us about our permanent record and we get to see what a flying doggo companion is like. Much fun! Now far more stronger with the revival from being burnt by warm water, we finally get to confront the scientist we've been tailing, only to take on the white winged crazy person who pretends to be an angel. With a dragon in our pockets, we continue on to figure out where Sephiroth and how to talk to him, but get dragged into doing missions of the snowy kind. Having no more patience with the side missions, we montage our way into levels ups, items, better equipment, even MORE equipment, and then finally a ton of materia--one of which is the fabled Bahamut Summon materia. After failing to gain new powerful materia in the Slums, we head back up top to learn of Shinra being attacked by more clones. They've evolved from punching to kicking, but also from being rare to common. We get picked up a lot, find treasure, then nearly get blasted into space dust by Bahamut 2.0. Assuming I had everything I needed to begin my adventure to obtaining a special materia, I stupidly take on some side quests and blindly get blindsided by a child that really doesn't like talking to me normally. After a patch of flowers broke our 50 story long fall with no repercussions, either to our health or the game's plot convenience, and also getting a butt shown to us while unconscious, we go about attempting to leave the slums under Midgar. Hunting down a scientist, we learn of Shinra experiments that involve SOLDIER members. Yet as we're about to capture a specific scientist, we are confronted by the "betrayers", who don't actually try to stop us as we run through Midgar breaking things. Typical Final Fantasy stuff. We quickly pick up from when we left off taking on Wutai invaders within Midgar. Machines run rampant after being hacked somehow, and with little to no explanation. Even though we were given 1ts class rank, apparently we're still stuck as 2nd class as we have to take down a Wutai stronghold. Our mission is to find another 1st class SOLDIER and find out why they deserted, but before that we must understand that using a sword causes it to become unusable... EVENTUALLY... Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII | Reunion is part of the new generation of Square Enix's Final Fantasy JRPG series. We're taken back to before Cloud Strife, when Zack Fair was rising up the ranks in SOLDIER. We are presented with finding out the disappearance of another SOLDIER member, giving Zack his chance to finally prove he is worthy of being in 1st Class. We begin our adventure with training, which is ridiculous because I don't need training. I have all the skills to slice the vill...ains. Sadly, I don't start out with the famous Buster Sword, but that will be mine before the end of my playthrough. All I need to do is read mail and more mail.
