In Episode 4, we explore the reaction of halogenation of alkenes using bromine. This reaction is used in making brominated vegetable oil (BVO). BVOs are crucial in keeping flavorings like citrus oil evenly distributed in drinks.

But we're taking this experiment to the kitchen! I’ll show you how to brominate vegetable oil and then use it in a way you might not expect - to fry eggs! It's a unique twist that combines chemistry with everyday cooking!
