He tries to use the law against us, pointing out our guilt before the Lord and accusing us of sin. His entire existence at this point is to prosecute humanity and keep them confined in hell. As we will see, he has the power of death. However, Christ defeated him at the cross, and He now holds the keys of hell and death.
