Live Nation and Ticketmaster sued by US regulators | BBC News

US regulators have sued Live Nation, accusing theentertainment giant of using illegal tactics to maintaina monopoly over the live music industry.

The lawsuit from the Department of Justice said thefirm's practices had kept out competitors, and led tohigher ticket prices and worse service for customers.

Attorney General Merrick Garland called on the courts to break up the company.

Live Nation said in a statement on its website thatclaims that it wielded monopoly power were "absurd".
