Pantoprazole (& Omeprazole) Side Effects (Including Nutrient Deficiencies & Infections)

Pantoprazole (also known as Protonix, and Pantoloc) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medication used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD; acid reflux) via inhibition of acidification of the stomach. Pantoprazole, like other PPIs through their ability to reduce stomach acid, can cause a wide variety of side effects, including nutrient deficiencies, gastrointestinal infections and increased risk of medical conditions like osteoporosis.
