George Umansky - St. Lucie County FL Candidate Supervisor of Elections

Any candidate who steps up to run for office in this political climate deserves our thanks. And George Umansky as a Veteran who has served our country honorably for years has made it his mission to continue doing so in the most challenging of times. Especially in the elections arena following such a contentious experience Americans faced with the last Presidential election in 2020. There is no more critical position to fill, in my opinion than a county's Supervisor of Elections (SOE).

George's vast experience in training others belies the main claim by his opponent, Jennifer Frey, that she would make a better SOE in St. Lucie County for hiring new people during busy election cycles. It is clear that George possesses a deep understanding of the position, elections laws, and technical expertise I believe are essential to oversee free and fair elections the American public deserve. As a retired Master Sargeant who specialized in security and surveillance, I can think of no better qualified person to be in charge of an elections office.

With the St. Lucie County incumbent being in office for 44 years and his only other opponent being Jennifer Frey, to me the choice is simple. While I was impressed with Jennifer's enthusiasm, passion and personable disposition, this position deserves someone who can give voters the confidence of a well-organized, honest, transparent, experienced manager that few SOEs in Florida possess. Expecially one who understands the shenanigans taking place in our Elections process here in Florida. Listening to George gives me that confidence and for that reason, I am endorsing him as the next Supervisor of Elections for St. Lucie County.

Of course as always, do your own homework on any candidate. That's why I've interviewed both of these candidates as fairly as I could so you have some information to compare. My hope is that if George ends up winning, he would consider hiring Jennifer inside the office as I believe she'd be a huge plus to his success and a great potential future SOE.

Above all, everyone must vote in the upcoming primary on August 20th so their voice is heard.
