Born on June 30, 1922; prior service man, Sergeant Carl Dekle turned 100 years old; when the broadcast of the video was aired (2022). This Floridian is a Marine veteran of World War II. A warrior of the Pacific Theater; he earned every medal that was displayed on his uniform.

A Marine of his age, has seen America go through many changes. During his interview; he says that Americans today have less freedoms, opposed to when he was a young man. One has to wonder how accurate that perception has to be.

The civil rights movement equalized opportunities for everyone. What's known as second wave feminism (which started in the 1960s) removed all barriers, due to gender. With such changes, how can anyone see America being less free?

Though it may seem as though there is a draconian shift towards complete totalitarian rule. This wouldn't be exactly accurate. From the perspective of the various leaders that are currently running the country...these changes only appear to be negative for those that are hindering change or progress. In other aspects of our nation; long held views have successfully altered.
