Easter Egg Watercolor Painting Tutorial for Beginners. I'll show you how to paint an Easter egg pattern in watercolor. You could use it as a card or as an Easter decoration. I'll show you how to make a symmetrical stencil you can use to draw several identical egg shapes using two different methods: a cardboard stencil and baking paper tracing. I'm painting on A4 size paper the stencils I made are about 4.5 and 5.5 cm tall. How can I can combine watercolor and pen without the ink smearing and running? Here's what I use. I'm making an ink and watercolor painting and talking through my process and the supplies. I like the combination of ink lines and watercolor, but I didn't use to have waterproof ink pens so if I tried inking and painting watercolor over it, the ink lines would run and smear on the paper. So, I'd either have to paint watercolor first and ink second or ink with my acrylic ink and a dip pen in which case the lines would be thicker than I wanted. One of the reasons I want to ink first is that I can scan the lineart before painting and turn it into a coloring page. I finally bought a set of Sakura Pigma Micron fineliners. They have waterproof, archival ink, which means that you can paint over them with watercolor without the ink running and they will not fade in sunlight.
