An Idaho sheriff’s deputy, Tobin Bolter, tragically lost his life after being shot during a traffic stop. The suspect fled the scene, leading to a manhunt.

The suspect, believed to be a 65-year-old wanted for a misdemeanor, was eventually located by Boise police.

After attempts to negotiate failed, the suspect opened fire on officers, resulting in return fire and his subsequent death.

Bolter, who had recently joined the sheriff’s office, was praised for his service and remembered fondly by colleagues, the Associated Press reported.
