El Paso Judge Orders Release of Border Rioters Who Steamrolled US National Guard

On Easter Sunday of all days, Judge Humberto Acosta ordered the release of a large group of illegal immigrants accused of rioting against National Guard troops along the Rio Grande on March 21.
The riot turned violent that day, with illegal aliens steamrolling and squeezing through National Guard members. Some illegals were found with knives and makeshift weapons, and one attempted to seize a firearm from a soldier.
During an online teleconference bond hearing on Easter Sunday, Judge Acosta criticized the El Paso District Attorney's Office for their lack of preparedness and decided to release all individuals charged with riot participation on their own recognizance.
Some illegals faced assault charges for toppling National Guard members, and others were charged with criminal mischief related to border fence damage. Despite these charges, they were also released on personal recognizance bonds, with immigration holds.
