Today we will watch the medical examiner's testimony, hear closing arguments, and await a verdict. I'm sure there will be plenty of sidebars, as well. The jury deliberated for around 5 hours. You can skip to 5:36:35 for the verdict.

In January 2019, Blake Scanlon was arrested after police were called to a home on White Street in Westfield, Massachusetts, and found 20-year-old Alexis Avery dead from apparent stab wounds. The two lived together and shared a child. The complaint on the incident states that after Blake Scanlon called the police, he texted his mother confessing to the crime and saying, “I’m sorry.” Blake included in the text message that he had found out Alexis was cheating. Blake Scanlon pled not guilty to charges including murder, domestic assault and battery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He has been at the Hampshire Jail and House of Correction while awaiting trial on the murder case.

In a separate case out of Hampshire County, Blake Scanlon is accused of plotting to kill a prosecutor and a witness in the murder case while he was in jail. The alleged plan started in 2020 targeted Hampden County Assistant District Attorney Matthew Green, the prosecutor in the m—der case, and Ericalynn Condurcari, a potential witness. Blake allegedly hired inmates to arrange for someone to kill them. Part of the plot was to intimidate EricaLynn Condurcari from testifying if her murder could not be arranged. Authorities learned about the alleged plot from the inmate Scanlon hired to carry out the plan.
