Reading aloud PHY241's "The Best Asteroid is the Asteroid Which Does Not Strike Earth"
h
haiboan
Randomly found this paper that I wrote for my Quantum Mechanics course on Asteroid Day.
All governments have an obligation to protect us from asteroids and, if they fail this duty, should be overthrown.
However, the United Nations should be the primary organization to head this and, yet, it is a completely feckless organization and should be disbanded precisely because there is absolutely no confidence that they will ever be competently able to protect us from asteroids, even if the United States were to print $1 quadrillion to fund an initiative such as this.

This particular college paper is from July 20th 2017 for my English course. I forgot about the specifics that went into this policy paper for advocating a more tolerant, somewhat Portugal-drug-solution, approach to tobacco smokers to achieve a future with decreased levels of tobacco smokers and nicotine addicted persons.
Took much longer than I anticipated to cover 10 pages, yes, but there's a whole lot of feelings that went into this paper and still have been repressed given that I have a decent policy that people likely don't care to hear, thinking it either is ineffectual from the starting point (smokers) or that the current policies are okay (non-smokers).
Regardless. It was a bit of a shock to remember shocking things which I had included in this to make my point, and I even got myself a few times with how I separated facts to build up one side of the story and then crush it with the second half of facts from the same source.
If only things were different after having written this like seven years ago.

Just going to quote 2018 me, "curiosity is the defining characteristic of human success, but also to human demise."
I explain some particulars about the audience and what not that almost got me to not be able to write this paper to begin with. Whatever lol.
It's just something I've written and, like, in a way... I guess it might be decent? Whatever. lol.

So this is an article originally written in 1907 which I digitized so, as such, it's the digitization that lets me believe that I could include this into a "collection of my works". It's obviously no connection to me so, as such, I believe it's fine given that it was over 100 years old and copyright law tends to be 70 years. Even then, I digitized it and that would be my claim. Regardless, lol, I think it is nice to keep here since it's like "Proverbs" in a way. But in a simplier and more updated language, I guess, for our more contemporary society where the Bible has retained its place on our shelves yet not always in our lives and hearts.
Was interesting to re-read this document. I might have made some mistakes in digitizing it but, yeah. It's still nice to be able to try to share this thought-provoking document. :)
Even if the old man claims not to be of a religion, it seems that he's rather Christian. The Japanese do not find it polite to point out the obvious and, even if he didn't mention Christ, could have been teaching what Christianity teaches by being secular regarding the teaching.

So this is like off-hand remarks that I preserved and published with other stuff. There's discussion of "Leontief’s Paradox" and "Heckscher-Ohlin theory" but like... wtf are those? I wrote this thing in Summer 2017 during my International Business 101 course, lol, but it doesn't mean I cared about economics.
I wanna make some money but, maybe it is useful to look into if one wants to better advocate for public policy (politics) of the nation and also regarding international relations?

I forgot just how much the professor's "questions" of my final project annoyed the shit outta me. I paid for this stupid course, when universities should pay us after making us go through hoops to get in (then again, community colleges would be of a different method of instruction but... I paid for this course and the professor had asked stupid follow up questions and even insisted the ACC was corrupt, in response to an assumption that I thought the ACC was the best thing ever which is a wrong assumption and probably made an ass out of the professor and myself. Pronouns omitted; who cares more about conversations and texts? Men or women? Also, which gender likely will abuse authority over written communications if they are made to look stupid for asking stupid questions to appear intelligent?). Not only did I probably meet the silly questions, which I guess they probably should have been acceptable but the "I'm not saying it is [corrupt] but could you look into that [and give a history report despite that being outside of the expected bounds of the assignment{, just to help back up that I am the professor and you are the student}]".
Regardless, I was actually involved in the case because my Dad was one of the opponents as amicus for the Sun City residents, lol. So I literally, for a year, had been hearing him bitching about the rate consolidation case and knew that his arguments were quite solid that, uh, the precedent used was improper for the attempted "consolidation" that ended up passing.
Why couldn't that have been asked? I literally had written neutrally despite my Dad hating the ACC, and like literally what I ended my assignment with shows why there isn't even likely to be a similar case in a lesser developed country: in Africa, the businesses owning the water weren't even international businesses like in this case! And, with South Korea, the example still wasn't international busines yet at least showed government ownership contrasted with privatization.
XD
I dunno. Was funny looking back at this since I remember the intended focus on "eminent domain" that I told the vanquished opposers about as a future plan of attack if EPCOR decides to have shitty service, going forth. Still, it's interesting how the other districts wanted granny to pay for their wastewater rates yet then 3 years later during 2020 wanted us all to think that their wearing masks was saving granny while they would be trying to say that non-wearers of mask were killing granny! THE SAME PEOPLE FORCING GRANNY TO PAY THEIR WASTEWATER BILLS WERE THE ONES TRYING TO FORCE US TO SAVE GRANNY FROM L'PLAGUE SO AS TO KEEP GRANNY AROUND TO ENSURE THAT THEIR BILLS WERE PAID! LMAO!

So, this wasn't an assignment or anything but was for the consideration of a wise old friend that has interesting conversations with my Dad, a lot. I don't know if I sent it to the professor, too, given that I was thinking of these things while reading the course's textbook but... Whatever.
Interesting that here is like the basis of my enthusiasm to reject Marx and call Socialism/Communism as "Christianity without Christ" as why it fails but also that those two concepts, and Capitalism, are only possible in a purely economic worldview such that... Reality could never be Communist, Socialist, OR Capitalist. We try, sure, but that's why Communists create Socialist states that are better described as running like a state-capitalist system.
Regardless, I point out at the beginning that proper Japanese for the concept is understanding would be that the verb of "to understand" in English has an equivalent in Japanese yet that this equivalent is properly used by grammar to say "it revealed itself to me" rather than "I understand it". The "understanding" of English is something that WE force, whereas understanding in Japanese is something that the OBJECT does to US. lol.
Bunch of random things linked together without actually using words to bridge things together.
Essentially, "off-hand comments" that, when read in succession, are supposed to paint a picture. Not sure if I did it properly but, perhaps, the reading over this and giving my thoughts aloud helped make it more understandable?
Dunno. Just reading the stupid thing and bloviating along the way.
It's just content, really.

So I just finished this and, as I say at the end, I had a message from DJ Gandalf to attend to who is from the college I went to for making these papers and was from the TV Studio classes. ... I just told him, "maybe I could be the Ring Of Invisibility" and... I didn't realize it since I hadn't seen the message... And I just went through this whole story and describing everything that pops to mind and how it's all me except for, like in Dante's Inferno, the lady I have my eyes set on (I mean, maybe it's the one I think it is, now, but it's at least who I always eye: the image of the perfect feminine, as Jordan Peterson would say regarding archetypes).
"You are too mysterious to be anything but" is the response, lol. And that was after having recorded this video. ... I respond, maybe I'm just the wearer of the Ring Of Invisibility and... Christ is the true Ring. The Ring Of Rings.
Anyways, I don't know of anything necessarily prudent to discuss, more, than just recommending you watch this video like all other videos.

Complete non-sense to me and I not only wrote it and read it off, but I am quite sure that it makes sense but I'm not sure how anymore that it does.
An example of why you shouldn't trust college kids with being the mark of "intelligence".

This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
Just as with every paper of mine which I have presented aloud in my own voice... So much commentary to have before and after, including concurrent events to make me have thoughts to express as a totality of my public persona.
This was fun to cover again and, like, I guess it may also be the first experience that one may have with the actual rigorous field of linguistics even if I am not a linguist and we are not in a linguistics course.
Reminds me of, in the Bible, "when two or more of you are gathered in my name [Christ's name], then I [Christ] will be there also". Even if I am not qualified to be a linguistics professor... If we are gathered in the pursuit of truth, then Truth will reveal itself. So...
I wish we had universities that were like that of 1860s Germany when we discovered that there was not a necessary life force such that, in a laboratory setting, Chemists can create components of ... urine ... without the "life force" of an animate being like either humans or animals in the process of creation of such chemical compounds. This is how Chemistry branched into Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, on the factor of a carbon-skeleton of the compound making that Chemistry study into an Organic Chemistry study.
Etymology, among other ideas and concepts of study, would be linguistic.
It was a fun video to record but like... It's nice that I finished it and have this. A bit surprised that it ended up being 2.5 hours but, hey, it's ... Ya just get into the mood of speaking of Truth and you just keep going...

It was a lot of fun going back through my linguistics work since, ya know, been using that study since I was just in Taiwan and will be soon in Korea while being in Japan at present. And, fighting against peer pressure, I'd rather do something other than be an English "teacher". I don't think that is a good use of my time, nor theirs; I think I would be better put to use in something other than English "teaching" given that, ya know... I have studied literally everything and can amusingly present the work that I did while learning it.
While Katakamuna is likely fake, I don't care: I think it is really cool to have found and I wish I could play with it more.
It was "discovered", if that is true, at a time when Quantum Mechanics was starting to become the overarching scientific theory in Physics. As such... It seems that this electrical engineer was trying to find a way to help transmit learning by making songs and, also, calling it an "ultra-"ancient language.
Sure, I think it is an elaborate hoax and... yet... Could be incredibly useful, given that I do not think a universal grammar exists regardless of Noam Chomsky's argumentations for the existence of it but not the existence of God... in helping transmit scientific knowledge to the future.
Everyone loves songs! There's 80 of them in Katakamuna, with extensive Japanese writings about these songs, and it's pronounced like Japanese if you figure out the analog to the Katakamuna characters!

Like with all of the papers from my community college period, and also later university period that had some work recorded here already... Everything seems to get an A yet only the comment/remark of "Good job". While it seemed okay at the time, since I tried to make the most assertive presentation to make the professor grin and laugh or be impressed... Maybe push the limits of the field... It would have been nice had they given an idea of what made them think it was a "good job". lol.
Why the hell did I pay to learn any of this crap? Sure, it was interesting and I had my own personal use for it but, like, who the hell would want to learn to be a linguist?! Pay me to learn and do this job, damnit! lmao. Same with all the other subjects which I studied. ... I'm literally paying to be "challenged" but why the hell would I want to be "challenged" by retards when I'm the one doing the challenging and not the professor whom I paid to "challenge" me?!?! They literally just sit there and collect a paycheck because EVERYONE ELSE thinks it is important to pay for college and get a degree and struggle/whine to pay back like $80k in debt after four years yet I did way more course work than they did (200 credits where 120 credits is what earns you a Bachelors degree, though there has to be particular courses and it's not due to number... Liberal Arts shouldn't matter, lmao) and only paid $20k and don't have debt...
The whole university system is suspect...
Anyways, it was fun reading through this and reminiscing on my studies and also repeating my thoughts and memories of learning. But, uh... Who cares? It doesn't do anything for me since I'm not employed in this line of work nor would I want to be, lol. However, I did like learning linguistics since, well, I would like to be able to learn Japanese at the level of a native speaker and... so...
I'm glad that I took this course. Yes. However, I mean... There's a reason it doesn't produce an amazing citizenry as it would have in the past before we flooded the market with the idea that students should pay for higher education... I am quite sure, 100 years ago, you would be accepted for a university and they would teach you, sure, but you would have to work to ensure that they are properly understanding the material by arguing it. If it doesn't make sense, then it's probably not right. And, like, you would be doing research for them. It's definitely not that way, any more, which is why people think of it as an extension of high school.
People used to think of a university as the pinnacle of human achievement. Now, it's the worst forms of lifeforms (especially the administrators).

For the COM263 papers, besides the last one, I wanted to just get the recordings done and then post them. Kinda just get the files uploaded and off my hard drive. It's part of this whole process and, I mean, it's just interesting to have done and noted. Funny, given that "intimacy and love" is the last recorded video before I came back for writing these descriptions.
Who knows why we make such a fuss about Mealtimes or Food and the various ways of receiving or being guests. It's kind of important, and yet not always. And, even then, we don't always follow cultural procedures, anyways, so... It is interesting to at least discuss the Japanese "itadakimasu". :)
As noted at the end, it is also a bit interesting to think when someone is betraying us by forcing hospitality onto us. It's weird to think of as being a thing but, ya know, it does happen.

It is a little amusing, looking back before 2020, how even with people complaining about the police... They will literally stop for anyone who directs traffic and, yet, the more uniformed and seeming like police officers one is... The more respect they will get in that position, regardless of the situation of the driver in traffic.
Maybe things have changed. Maybe it is due to culture and governance... I don't know. But. ... It seems that law and order always has a kind of way of having one situation that always is respected.
I dunno.

As noted, this was really short yet, ya know, whatever lol. What is intimacy (I did an assignment which is featured after the next paper in this section on intimacy, lol), even? And, like, does it matter if we are online in our relationships or not?
I don't really think it is ultimately important to be in-person for a relationship until, ya know, it is an available option. Obviously, if it is more than a friendly relationship as in desire for dating and marriage, you want to be in-person but... Maybe by having the ability to court via communication before getting "serious"... Y'all's can feel each other out. Same thing with marrying... But... You probably should have at least one or two encounters, in person, with the other person before ever asking them you marry you. LOL
Then again, people have had arranged marriages for a looooong time and... They do find a way to love each other.
The biggest issue with online relationships would be, if you feel that you trust each other and then... They disappear. They ghost you. ... It's a crime in Singapore to ghost someone. Ghosting would just be to disappear, but like... "Sorry, this is it. Bye" would be much better, I think, then nothing. Then again... Maybe that would be worse?
Whatever! lol!
Life is life. Just be careful of observations and, well, struggle with God before struggling with any one else and, ya know, you end up better for it. However, what does it even mean to "struggle with God"? ... Hitting the hard questions, I guess, I am? XD

So yeah, it should be expected that, with a Christian, I see the terms "intimacy" and "love" in more of a neutral sense even if the mainstream culture implies a term of romantic or sexual concepts behind them.
It means more to me to be "intimate with a friend" as in furthering our friendship as people than... "oh we got intimate last night" in terms of saying that I got laid...
I never really understood why anyone needs to know about what me and a lovely lady got up to, besides to make sure that she doesn't have a husband who's gonna kill me if he finds out... LOL
I understand when other people use "intimate" as a euphemism, sure, but... I never have felt the need to use it in such a fashion.
It's weird how like, even in my periods of extreme doubt regarding my faith in Christ...
I have always been a Christian on the matter of "intimacy" and "love". Or, well, perhaps I have forgotten and maybe I was a horrible sinner that repented and God wiped my memory of it... Likely not, I just don't think I ever ... Thought about things in such a way. I dunno. It's weird, since I'm trying to remember things that used to be so fresh in my life and should be like yesterday, at the age of 35, and it's like ancient history if it ever even occurred. Maybe in a novel I was reading but that would be outside of me and not my heart, I guess? Dunno. lol.

For the course, near the end of the semester, we were to watch this on our own time and then discuss it a bit as well as give our thoughts on the movie. I mean, it was a pretty decent execution and I loved the idea that ya make the bastard students do it on their own time, hahahaha. Yes, sure, I don't particularly like the whole concept of how universities are run and all that but, like, it's being run in the way which it is so we may as well play to it. ... We already have to do things such as read the chapter assignments before hand, like I had returned to high school or something, but... I thought it was a nice touch. lol.
Yeah, it's a movie and not reality. Even a documentary or a really decent simulation isn't reality, either. Still. It's trying to portray a particular political side of the debate and, ya know, it does help bring forward the emotional aspect even if it may not be completely accurate of the issue, itself.
The thing which I specifically called to mind in my commenting on my paper, six years later, is... Were the Mexicans illegal immigrants or legal immigrants? Even if, and I did note that something said that the economic impact of the Mexicans in California actually is positive... But while the economic impact is positive, potentially at least by the statistics and how they were argued... It life purely economic, like the Marxists would argue it is?
I guess that this paper of mine went towards a leftist bent. Oops. But like, ya know, you only have so much input and ya gotta go with that from time to time. It would be a waste of my time, for so little gain, to try and have a whole dissertation on the entire issue and pick apart the whole movie when, ya know, that's not the purpose of the assignment.
The assignment was a good and fun assignment to help us students group together, talk with each other, and then present to the professor our thoughts and findings.
"Intercultural communication" is the course that this assignment was for. As such... It was a decent assignment so, ya know, it doesn't particularly matter the paper's political seeming leaning when, ya know, it wasn't an assignment to solve all of the world's problems.
...
I commented about numerous things, as I have in all of these readings of my academic work. I dunno. It was a learning experience and, ya know, I am thankful for it. It was hilarious having the struck out "forced against my will" regarding why I was doing the assignment... XD The professor was slightly offended but it was at the end of the semester and like, hey, gotta have some fun. Why are we always so serious?
It's college. It's not the military.

As I ended this video, I had quipped "The Romans were better at mathematics than you are". Seriously, as we explore this last paper of mine in this book which I recorded (I skipped this and finished the rest of the book before coming to it so, while it is in the middle... I recorded this one last), just as it can be said that "Rome wasn't built in a day"... It may also one day be said that "Rome wasn't built without mathematics".
Amusingly, I had compiled this presentation and sent it in for the assignment to the professor and yet this was the first time I actually explored the "creating concentric ellipses" diagram and instructions graphic that I had included; holy crap, it works and despite looking complex it is actually quite simple. Like much of this other stuff which I had included in this presentation.
Like everything else here, I received an A. lol. I mean, like, shouldn't I have gotten an S for almost all of it? XD
This was a fun adventure of a presentation, though. Holy crap, just thinking of everything as I went along and then also tying it into recent history that I had become acquainted with...
Rome is fucking amazing.
It still exists, today; the form has just changed.

Make the pursuit of knowledge great again!
Amusingly, I felt the first part of the paper was just like a passion project, only, regarding looking up Latin arithimetic discussions but... Maybe we should and that would be the best use of the people of these times. lol. It may actually be those very discussions, which everyone thinks they know, which allowed for the Arabs to later symbolize and produce Algebra about 1000 years later which we use today. I have always felt that Arithmetic, "basic math", is the most difficult part of mathematics to understand and that, while we think of it as "basic" today such that it is only in "elementary" (foundations) school... The production of the elementary maths probably took for forever given how fundamental they are whereas we would have been focused on doing the projects and other things that "advanced" topics like calculus allows us to do.
Calculus is essentially advanced summation, given that Integrals are "Riemann Sums" named after Riemann who standardized that form of integration... Maybe that's how the engineers did the amazing things of then which engineers of today are surprised by and unable to replicate: they couldn't do "quik maths" or basic math like we could, sure, but they sure as hell knew the essentials of calculus and they discussed it all the time such that there is a plethora of arithmetic discussion available for the modern reader, in Latin, and no one cares because it's merely arithmetic so it's basic math that the retards should have learned in First Grade!
...
We modern people think we are so excellent in the time frame of human history and, yet, it feels like the ancients look at us as an upside-down people which wouldn't even be worth letting tie their sandals. lol.
Regardless, then the rest of the essay on "Why Learn Latin?" continues onto what I would expect have been the true potential of learning Latin but... At this point... It looks like the passion project is the essential project, and the essential projects are the passion projects...
What a weird world after the Coronavirus catastrophe.

First Book, Part 2-21 "AHU245 - Reading the Writings of a Palestinian Author"

This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
I got choke up many times while re-reading my paper discussing having read a book for my Islamic Humanities course...
From the pen of one who has been in the desert of the Middle East to the eyes and heart of one who lived in the desert of Arizona... And just reread his reflections on that pen of Palestine... Yeah...
Technically... Palestine includes Israel since there are the Palestinian Arabs and the Palestinian Jews.
Why not name Israel as Palestine in Arab and live under the same government? Or, well, stick with the current name of Israel since it has been around for thousands of years whereas "Palestine" is about a hundred year old, or so, name.
I dunno. Still. I hope this helps in furthering peace in the Middle East, regardless of who is at fault or who is to be commended: it's just people, among people, trying to be peoples.
I dunno.

Well, that was a fun trip down memory-lane in all sorts of fashions. lol.
Stereotypes are patterns. So what, lol. However, after trying to unpack everything, I think we can finally agree that Aladdin is an amazing movie and that we should stop trying to censor it or put disclaimers on it.
Totally showing to my kids, without qualms about it.
Whole hub-bub chaotic bullshit about "cultural oppression" was absolutely ridiculous, to begin with. But, hey, at least I got to make a decent paper about it and then correct the necessary subversive elements that were placed in here to protect myself despite thinking everything is retarded and to fuck off and leave me alone.
Maybe... It helped not just get the professor onto my side but also help them assimulate into American culture.
Heh.

Whatever. lol.
