These 9 simple exercises will help you in strengthening the gluteal muscles in standing position and in laying down position. Gluteal muscle strengthening exercises is very important as it will help in maintaining pelvic alignment and it will help in equal weight distribution from lower back to the Bilateral Lower extremity muscles.

Weakness of gluteal muscles can cause pain in lower back, hip and knee due to changes in body mechanics and also alters walking pattern, hence strengthening gluteal muscles will help in lowering low back, hip and knee pain, also with certain postural disorders of feet and ankle sprain gluteal muscle strengthening is helpful.

Especially people who are involved in sitting positions at work, their thigh muscles in front tend to get tight and gluteal muscles become weak and hence they end up having back pain. Avoid these exercises in quadruped position(on hands and knees) if it puts excessive pressure on knees and hands, try it in standing positions instead. Also, people with excessive pain on knee, overweight or obese try to avoid exercises on knees and hands(quadruped position) to avoid excessive strain on knee.
