One injured as plane evacuated due to ‘strong odor’

A plane due to take off from a North Carolina airport was forced to evacuate on Wednesday, after a strange smell was noticed by passengers and crew. The Frontier Airlines plane was due to depart for Florida, when ‘a strong odor’ was detected throughout the aircraft. ‘As a matter of precaution, the captain issued an evacuation notice,’ the airline said in a statement, although no smoke, fire or other malfunction was observed.

Passengers were so eager to get away from the mystery smell that some barrelled head first down the evacuation slide, with one person sustaining injuries.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the smell.
