Hey folks,

In this video I show you how to install a double curtain for blackout shades. The curtain rod is a double rod so you have the option of having either a blackout shade, or a sheer blind on your window. This gives you two very cool options to choose from.

The first step to installing the curtain rod is to find the studs. This is going to be the best option for how you install it because if you use drywall anchors you have a good option of accidentally pulling them out when you open or close them.

once you have located the studs, you will want to install the brackets one either side of the windows. Make sure the window is centered between the curtains.

after the brackets are installed you will be able to attach the rods. There are pieces that slide over the brackets and hook on using a set screw. Use the supplied allen key to screw in the set screw.

After the two end pieces are on it's time to put the rods up. But first you want to slide the curtains on. The curtain you choose will depend on if you are putting up the sheer curtain or the blackout curtain.

The two different curtain rods are different thicknesses, and will need to be paired up with the correct match.

after both rods have their curtains on them, and are hanging up correctly, it's time to put the center piece up. This will help support the weight of the curtains.

Find the center between the two end points of the curtain rod. Make a mark on the wall and hold the bracket up to the curtain rods. Mark the holes for the bracket. this is where you are going to drill pilot holes.

Check if there is a stud there you can screw in. If there isn't you can use the anchors. Install the anchors in the holes you made, and use them to screw up the bracket.

After this bracket is up, you are done installing your curtain rod. Give them a test pull to see how they slide.

Congratulations on installing your blackout curtains.
