The Importance of Microbial Diversity 🦠

So microbial monitoring is really important. And in the soil food web school, one of the primary things we monitor is the ratio of bacteria to fungi. Because I mentioned earlier, the best correlation to plant growth is the fungal to bacterial ratio.

So if you get, and the holy grail is like one to one, like most plants that we grow as crops, they require one to one fungi, for every one gram of bacteria, there's one gram of fungi. And depending on where that plant is in succession, like from a weed to a forest, a tree in the forest, weeds...
