Sounding Out is presented by Ian Watt, 'a guitarist of outstanding originality' (Classical Guitar Mag), whose 'dazzlingly virtuosic' (The Herald) playing has been heard live across the world, including the USA, China, South Korea, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Czech Republic, Denmark and Estonia. He has recorded three albums for Nimbus, his playing on which has been described as 'sublime' (BBC Music Mag), 'outstanding' (Classical Guitar Mag), with 'an exceptional range of timbre' (BBC Music Mag) and 'phrasings, colours and characterisations [which] are a match for anyone' (Music Web International).

A respected teacher, he joined the guitar faculty at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland at the age of 22 and has given masterclasses throughout the world, although he values having students of all ages and abilities.
