It's Time to Get Worried About Joker 2

Joker in 2019 was an unexpected Billion dollar hit from Todd Phillips, brought together by a masterful performance by Joaquin Phoenix and little to no studio interference. A modest budget of $60 Million turned into nearly $1.1 Billion and the film is still fondly remembered 5 years after it's release.

With a sequel no one was asking for on the horizon in 2024, the limited information released hasn't been inspiring. It is going to be a musical, Lady Gaga is going to by Harley Quinn, Warner Bros. is getting more involved. All of these were harbingers of doom, but the latest news of the budget more than tripling to $200 million is a sign that this is going to be a vastly different film from the first and an even more worrying sign that this is going to meet everyone's worst fears and none of their wildest dreams.
